my first three panels comic strip
My First Three-Panel Boxing Comic: Wriothesley’s Victory!
1. Why Did I Start Drawing?
I’ve always admired boxing illustrations, but I never seriously tried drawing one myself—until now! This is my very first attempt at a three-panel comic, and I wanted to challenge myself by capturing the intensity of a boxing match in just a few frames.
Since I’m still experimenting with comic-style storytelling, I had one goal in mind: Wriothesley must win! As a fan of his character, I wanted to depict his strength and resilience in the ring.

2. The Creation Process
To bring this scene to life, I followed a simple step-by-step process:
Step 1: Draft Sketch
I started with a rough draft sketch to lay out the composition of the panels. This helped me decide the poses, perspectives, and overall flow of the comic. Since it was my first attempt, I focused on keeping things dynamic and readable.
Step 2: Final Pencil Sketch
Once I was satisfied with the draft, I moved on to the final pencil sketch on a fresh page. Here, I refined the anatomy, facial expressions, and key movements to ensure the action looked convincing.
Step 3: Digital Outlining in Ibis Paint X
After completing the sketch, I took a photo and imported it into Ibis Paint X for outlining. This step was crucial for defining clean, bold lines that gave the artwork a polished comic-book feel.
During the outlining phase, I made an important adjustment:
➡️ I changed Wriothesley’s head angle to a 3/4 view to add more depth and intensity to his expression.
Step 4: Adding Effects and Final Touches
To enhance the impact of the scene, I added several key elements:
✅ Boxing ring for a proper setting.
✅ Punch effects to emphasize movement and power.
✅ Sweat details to highlight the physical intensity.
✅ Dialogue and sound effects to make the comic more immersive.
3. The Final Result
I’ve included a photos of the entire process below. It was a fun and rewarding experience, and I’m excited to create more boxing illustrations in the future.
What do you think of this first attempt? Let me know in the comments! Would you like to see more Wriothesley boxing moments?
